Celeste would like to discuss a trip that includes the following rough itinerary for an April 2018  Cincinnati trip:

Thursday:  depart 8am, stay at Great Wolf Lodge, have lunch at the resort and swim.  Check-in and go to a show or concert
Friday: Clinic or adjudication at University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Zoo, maybe a riverboat dinner/dance
Saturday:  Kings Island with performance and depart for home after a day in the park.

Definitely liked how our trips look within the context of our itineraries, all-inclusiveness, etc and appealed to her need for a lot of detail.  
 
She has never traveled with her group and feels she "should". She is hopeful she would have somewhere around 80 participants.

> Celeste & SN have corresponded via EM to expand upon her initial ideas for a Spring 2018 trip.  (This is after many attempts over several months to establish contact!)

This is very tricky… I’m working on it.  Looks like Kings Island opens April 15, so would like to go after this… however, not sure how that will work.  April is testing month.  Waiting for an answer from Principal on trying to avoid tests.  Ideally, I would like to leave on a Thursday morning (EARLY) and return home late Saturday evening.  I’ve reached out to my contact at Univ of Cinci. She is working on possible dates there.  That may be the defining factor.  Seniors are done May 6 or so, so want to go before then.  Could end up pushing back to March.  I will get you a better idea when I hear from my principal and my UC contact.  Obviously, avoid Easter weekend.

Possibilities from me (without any info from Principal)

March 15-17 (probably rules out kings island, but maybe you have other activities…)

April 12-14 (same)

April 19-21

April 26-28

MAYBE May 10-12, but this is probably the last option for several reasons.

May 5 is Prom – so probably should avoid that weekend.
> PAX:  I’m aiming for 80 students (hopefully more!) plus adults from there.  Ideally 12+ adults.
> Clinic/Workshop:  I’ve contacted Dr. Ann Porter (head of the music ed division) to see what she could help with.  Could be a formal performance on stage, but that’s probably unlikely.  I want something interactive where the kids play and are then clinic-ed by a professor… or could be they play, then have some instrument master-class studio time, even if it’s with a doctoral student and not a full professor.  I would potentially have two different bands to perform.

I also want them to tour the conservatory as well as the full campus.  Many of our kids never get to go on college visits.

If there’s a way to attend a large ensemble performance on campus, that would be great.  Band or orchestra.  Or even one of their musical productions.

Admin here said no traveling in April due to state testing..  I have asked them to consider March 1-3 or 15-17.  If those dates don’t work, I will probably just have to plan a local day to Cedar Point or something of the like, or look ahead to next fall.

Ann – Please let me know if either of those are a possibility for clinic stuff at UC.

Also, introducing you both – Ann Porter is head of music ed at UC CCM, Stephanie Nicol is with CCIS travel, which is providing us with a trip proposal.
