7/17/08:
>  Ernie came to Golf Outing, good friend of Bob Matchett from Seneca Valley and Steve Hawk from SRU.
>  Ernie has used New Horizons for years and suggested that Bob use them since AmeriTours was closed.
>  Bob got a quote from them, but it was high and did not include all he wanted . . . So BJS asked Bob to invite Ernie if he thought he might be intertested - he was and he came.

It was an absolute pleasure for Hollie and I to have you as our guest at the CCIS Golf Outing a few weeks ago. It was great meeting you and your colleagues in a setting away from the classroom and we are honestly intrigued by your wine production, wine cellar & tasting room - it sounds fantastic. Hollie and I are wine enthusiast and have discussed installing a small wine cellar & tasting room in our home for several years, so it is exciting to get to know someone who has done the entire process from the ground up! If you don't mind, we'd appreciate your allowing us to pick your brain for suggestions and guidance as we make plans to proceed.
 
I would also love to have the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the NA Choir's travel plans for the coming year. I am confident that we can do an outstanding job for you and your ensembles, providing great detail, first rate customer service, and the highest quality - all at an outstanding value. As you may be aware, I have already met with Bob Matchett and the Seneca Valley Band has selected CCIS for their trip to DC this coming April.
 
Please give me a call or shoot me an email when you have a chance so we schedule an appointment to get together at a mutually convenient time. Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Welcome Back - I hope the new year is a great one for you and your ensembles! I know you have worked with New Horizons in the past, but hope you will give a local company an opportunity, to at the very least, provide your group with a proposal. I am not sure if you are aware or not, but Bob Matchett's group requested proposals from several companies, including New Horizons, and has selected CCIS for this year's trip. We are very excited to have earned Bob's business and hope we can do the same for you.
 
Please give me a call when you have a moment so we can discuss your group's travel plans for the coming year. I would be happy to meet you at the school, or anywhere at your convenience, in order to get the planning process underway.

October 2010:
>  Ernie called and spoke with BJS re: NYC, April 7 - 9, 2011.
>  Not at all satisfied with New Horizons trip to Orlando last year.
>  Chamber Choir only (approx. 55-60 pax, 50 or 53 + 7)
>  Just one coach - any over flow will be on own for transportation.
>  Would consider other destinations in similar driving distance, I.e.: Washington, DC.
>  Wants to stay in Manhattan - last time stayed at Embassy Suites Lower Manhattan. Like in Manhattan so extra pax do not need to get in and out of city each day as they would if they stayed in NJ.
>  All-Inclusive Meal Plan.
>  Depart 5AM on Thursday, 4/7/11
>  Leave for home early Sunday morning, following breakfast, 4/9/11.
>  2 B-way Shows
>  Choral Clinic (we could use Judith Clurman formerly of Julliard School).
>  Performance at Cathedral (we could do Choir Sing at St. John The Divine).
>  Other typical NYC attractions like NBC Studio Tour, Top of the Rock, Dinner at Sal Anthony's Restaurant in Little Italy (Italian obviously).
>  Wants to see rates with Saturday night stay as well as heading for home Saturday after last activity.
>  Would also like ot see rates comparing a Manhattan hotel to a NJ Meadowlands are hotel.
>  BUDGET = +/- $500 all-inclusive, including transportation!!!
>  BJS told him this would be tough, especially wth a Manhattan hotel.
>  Also briefly discussed his plans for a West Coast trip in 2012.
>  BJS sent him copy of Worthington Kilbourne's LA Trip from this past Spring (PTP and Final Itinerary) and explained that it was a sample of what one of our group's recently did.
>  BJS also agreed to do some searching on shows in DC, etc. and share those with him so he could make a DEFINITE destination decision.

>  Ernie called and spoke with BJS and then on to SN for in depth discussion about Orlando in April 2014 - actually, not so in depth, for it was almost the exact same notes as the proposal we put together in 2010.
>  BJS and SN discussed and then BJS discussed with Marty on how to handle him using us again.

8/23/13:
>  SN called Ernie and asked to set time to talk.

8/26/13:
>  Per Ernie, call on Tuesday between 9:15 - 10AM.
>  BJS and SN called at 9:25 and LVM as he did not pick-up.
>  BJS has notes prepared if he calls back and INW by 10AM, BJS is sending email with notes.
1.	Business Model has changed and due to the amount of time and actual hard costs involved in putting together a proposal, we are no longer just sending out proposals for folks to have as a comparison. With CCIS, when we do the proposal, since we won’t present anything to you that hasn’t been confirmed as available, the trip is done and confirmed by the time a client ever gets the proposal.  Obviously, this takes time and considerable staff hours which equals money.
2.	I see that the trip notes you gave to Stephanie last week are almost identical to the trip we planned for you in April 2010, including the same budget figure – mid $1,200s. 
3.	In 2010, we were $65 less per student than Dirk, yet you still selected New Horizons.
4.	The Miami Air charter rate has gone up $92 since 2010 and the Disney Pass has increased $25. Even if all the other rates were the same  as 2010 (and we know they are not), we are already at $1,302.
5.	Is there real number that we have to come in at for you to commit to using CCIS? 
6.	If we can’t . . .

9/11/13:
>  Used us again - in the last 48 hrs Dirk was amazingly able to lower his price by more than $150pp and keep him at the Rosen, so he is going to stick with him.
>  NEVER AGAIN DO A PROPOSAL FOR THIS GROUP AS LONG AS HE IS THE DIRECTOR!
