8/22/00:
>  Jeff called, having trouble with dates due to no travel in April because of SOLs and Prom is May 19.
>  He is thinking Toronto and Memorial Day weekend.
>  There are no festivals currently in the dbase in Toronto for that weekend.
>  He seems really set on Toronto and that weekend.
>  He doesn't care about the competition but seems to think his kids really want it since it is the only time all year that they get to compete in a concert setting.
>  I suggested the possibility of a competition site somewhere en route (ie: Hershey, PA) on the way up or back - he wasn't too excited about that. . . 
>  Wants us to keep our eyes open for a Memorial Day Weekend Toronto Festival as the final brochures for the year begin to arrive.
>  DSC to discuss with BJS and call back the week of Labor Day.  (FYI - students return 8/28/00.)
>  June Stegall has also asked that we give her a call ASAP!!!  DSC, please call June at your very earliest convenience.

4/28/23:
>  BT had a good meeting with Jeff.
>  wants to get back with us b/c he "got rid of some bad eggs" that were causing him some issues. (parent boosters). Went to UO last year and it was a giant mess "because he was not in charge". Time for him to be in charge again and that's why he reached out to us.
>  no set destination yet. Looking into two very different things.
>  Gatlinburg (had some issues with hotel last time but really liked Smokey Mtn. Music Festival). BT read back through the notes and this was partly due to the big Tommy Fuck Up. BT researched SMMF. Looks like it still exists. He would really like to do this. We would have to insist on being in control of the hotel choice I think. 
>  Myrtle Beach - not as concerned about festival performance this time around. Still rebuilding. "worthwhile performing option". Clinic, festival, what's out there? Talked about how Myrtle is a bit limited outside of festivals unless maybe they did clinic en route (VCU?). Jeff has seen that a lot of the festival companies have gone under. 
>  April - 12th or 19th weekend - probably 1 bus this time. about 55. Maybe 60 (few driving separately with equipment). so no 2nd bus if over 55 or 56.
>  concert band, jazz ensemble. If there was a parade opportunity - MAYBE that as well.
>  Smokey Mtn. had opportunity for indoor guard, etc. Not sure if he will have those groups at this point. 
>  Budget wise - not really sure. Needs some kind of idea as a starting. all inclusive for sure. Obviously, need to land on a destination first.
>  BJS - let's discuss at some point. Perhaps personnel has changed with Smokey Mtn? Told him I would be in touch last next week to look at some itinerary ideas. Next weekend is Apply Blossom Festival, so following week is better - so we have some time.

"Here are the hotels that we have contracted with and recommend:

Greystone Lodge
Edgewater Hotel
Glenstone Lodge
Old Creek Lodge
Black Bear Inn
The Appy Lodge
Fairfield Inn

There are other properties that we have contracted with in Pigeon Forge as well if your group is interested. The only issue with that is dealing with traffic to and from Gatlinburg.

If there is a hotel besides these that your groups are interested in, we can certainly look into them.

We are also willing to pay for a one-night stay if the director wanted to come look at a certain property."
>  Pretty sure the Fairfield is where they stayed in 2016 and she told me they did not contract with that hotel any more.
>  BJS - let's discuss how we want to proceed with Jeff. Let him choose the hotel? Do as CCIS? Or just DST with site visit?
